Short tempered
Baladheepak AC:
Pankaj,Though I saw your query three days ago, I needed time to contemplate before answering.
Two reasons:
First, we are tele-communicating. In person, things are different.
Second, there might be many others who might wish to know the solution provided for your question. The reply should be in that angle.
Fine,Lets' come back.
Pankaj,My observations has revealed three common charecteristics of people with short temper.
One, they are sensitive.
Two, they are intolerant to wrong.
Three, they wish to bring a positive change. (Here, the word positive might mean different things.)
Ok. Now that we understand you are sensitive, let us see a few things.
When you are angry, your thinking is out of control. At that time, we communicate with an unconscious intention to hurt others. The anger might cool down, but the scars caused by words might not heal - at all.
Realisation of the after-effects alone would be an antidote to anger. If you are immune to anger, then short temper would slowly find its path away from you.
My mom always tells a proverb - Anger is both the mother and father of all sins. (It might seem that these words are a bit exaggerated. No, having this in mind might actually bring about a great change in out attitude.
As mentioned earlier, realisation is the way.Pls have a copy of these lines with you, as the meaning sinks in, the maturity would bloom.
God,Grant me the serenity to accept,
The things I cannot change,
The courage to change things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Pankaj,
My little experience leads me to my bookshelves to dust away and re-view the scriptures. The more we are in lines with it, there would be no need for a thread like this.
If possible, read Saint Valmiki's Ramayana. The lessons found in it would be the best teacher for life.
May goodness dawn on you,
Baladheepak AC.
My memory is not week, but what's the problem
Baladheepak:
The Moghul Emperor, Akbar, was one day out hunting in the forest. When it was time for evening prayer he dismounted, spread his mat on the earth, and knelt to pray in the manner of Muslims everywhere. Now it was precisely at this time that a peasant woman, perturbed because her husband had left home that morning and hadn't returned, went rushing by, anxiously searching for him. In her preoccupation she did not notice the kneeling figure of the Emperor and tripped over him, then got up and without a word of apology rushed farther into the forest.Akbar was annoyed at this interruption, but he observed the rule of speaking to no one during the namaaz. At just about the time that his prayer was over, the woman returned, joyful in the company of her husband, whom she had found. She was surprised and frightened to see the Emperor and his entourage there. Akbar gave vent to his anger against her and shouted, "Explain your disrespectful behavior or you will be punished."The woman suddenly turned fearless, looked into the Emperor's eyes and said, "Your Majesty, I was so absorbed in the thought of my husband that I did not even see you here, not even when, as you say, I stumbled over you. Now while you were at namaaz, you were absorbed in One who is infinitely more precious than my husband. And how is it you noticed me?"

Sabeen,This shall provide a beautiful catalyst to you.Read this story twiceSee which charecter you fit right Contemplate what change is to be implimented. In case you would still need clarification, we are here...

@ Anupa
Anupa, you are a final year chemistry student.
Can you help me with this problem?I
have an equation which people claim is correct. I have a few doubts coz the molecular strengths(! I hope the term is right)of the left hand side and right hand side are not equal. Can this equation be considered as right? We both know that it cannot be considered so.
What is the reason?
The stability is challenged - right?
If an equation is carefully noticed for its stability - we have to understand how important it is to see, notice and carefully watch the stability of humans.
This starts from the mind. If a small mistake of yours is going to be the focus, all the right things you do and the general agility of yours are out of focus.
So, keep yourself totally upon the situation (either it is a practical working, or theoratical problem..) and go according to the protocol.
If your professor has given a set of proceedures for you to go by, follow that without any intrusions in the mind.
As a guide, I remind you of the umpteen opportunities which are available in this world which you would be facing and taking up in the future. If you are not a clearhead, then, those opportunities might not be addressed successfully.
1.Learn from the problem.
2.Know why you went off balance.
3.Become more interested in the subject - even unconsciously you should do things right.

Baladheepak AC : There is nothing more painful than to suffer indifference from the one we love.
Let us understand a few things,
First - if the person whom we love (or think that we love), is exhibiting indifference, then there might be some problem with us. (one must have great guts to accept this). So, to overcome that, communicate with the person in all humbleness and see how soonyou can learn about the problem.
Once you learn, then see if this problem of yours might extend beyond one person and affect other relationships too.
Action needed : Take a paper and write a letter or email, but write.

Neha,
Congratulations - for you wish to do well in your MBA.
You have mentioned that you know its importance. Good that you know its importance.
But, knowing is one part. How much of the importance have you felt?
Slightly unclear??
Wait,
You know what is the capital of Japan? And how important it is to the world?
Do you know how important is the functioning of the heart?
Good.. But have you ever seen a family in which one of the members has suffered a heart attack?
Yes? No? - - - no problem whatever is the answer.
But can you imagine what it would be like?
Can you write down what might be the grief and the situation in the family??
Pls write down. (It would take a minute. But pls do it. Take a pencil/pen and write down atleast five things about what would be the situation in that family.)

Now,
You were telling about MBA. Can you imagine what would be your life without this degree.
How many gains can you mention???
Work on this.
Work to gain this. Don't worry about MBA. Think of all the benefits to gain later.
Procrastination will leave through the back door.

I'm a topper - that's the problem
Hello Baladheepak It’s a wonderful job that you are doing here! I have got a problem and I would like to know how you would have resolved it, had it been your problem!I actually don’t know if it is even a problem at all so let me first ask you if it’s a real problem that need to be resolved. Is it a bad thing that you are good in studies, have confident and are preferred by the teacher over the others?I know that for sure that I never pose or pretend to be, “miss know it all” but that’s exactly what I get to hear. Even my friends say this to me all the time that you are proud!!! This is posing quiet a problem for me; especially my male friends find it hard to tolerate my proud nature (this is what they say)
Baladheepak AC : This is a situation which would voice the top rank holders of 75% of the people in any educational instituation.
It is quite natural for the humans to compare.
By comparing, we normally lose equilibrium. When you study well and are praised for that, others start feeling an envy - cos, their immediate thought is that they are inferior to you.
Because of the reason that you made them feel this, you would be in the not-so-favourite list. Now, since you cannot be in the not-so-fav.. list of the teachers, your peers make a note to mark you in that list of theirs.
This is the answer to the first part of your question.

Trip to Scotland - 3THINGS TO REMEMBER
Good to hear about your trip.
Unlike the normal "Wish you a happy journey" Mail, I wish to share a few things which would make your trip a successful one.
- Remember your Roots - Most of the people who travel abroad, develop a fancy thinking that the other country's culture is great and that ours is not. This is hated by any person who knows about culture. Such exhibitionism isn't tolerated by decent people who have realised the value of tradition and ethics. Please stick to your culture and tradition and treat the people in the other country with the same courtesy as how you would like to treat your family.
- Utilise your Privileges - The underprivileged compared to you can gain a lot from the experience and exposure of your foreign travels. I direct my friends to keep an open eye so that the umpteen number of opportunities from various sources can be introduced to people here. Those who are alert would definitely be ready to grab.
- The Most Important Thing - is to remember that you are with your family and if your wife is home maker, she would expect you to return back in time. Spend quality time with your family.
May God be with you,
Baladheepak AC

Sharpening our Axe
a) A case that might help you
b) Prayers for a few and
c) a quote which might inspire you
Friends,
Nice meeting you after a long time.
A few days ago, I received a phone call from a person who introduced himself as a student of mine and expressed wish to meet me for a help which he said he shall tell personally.
Over tea, he shared a few difficulties which showed that he needed fine tuning in some basic habits.
Seeing that he was the managing director of an important retail outlet in the town and being careful that the suggestions to be given to him should be effective and not very time consuming, I got the help from one of the most effective diplomats of the history and a person whose life history itself is a great inspiration to anyone who reads - Benjamin Franklin.
Of the so many things we learn from the great person, His way of imbibing values is the greatest - I feel.
He had conceived 13 virtues and also gave a simple definition which helped him as well as all those who wished to follow it by reading it regularly. I suggested 3 virtues from Benjamin Franklin's list and suggested to stick to them. This shall bring in steady and sure positive changes in life.
I'm sending this to you so that you might find an use of this in your life too.
2. "SILENCE. Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation."
3. "ORDER. Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time."
4. "RESOLUTION. Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve."

Our beloved Dr.Abdul Kalam's President Speech
From: poonam rajora
I am sure you will agree with every suggestion he has made.................
*Please read this article by giving 10 minutes from your busy life. Really
good.... ** *
* The President of India DR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam 's Speech in Hyderabad . *
Why is the media here so negative?
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our
achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success
stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?
We are the first in milk production.
We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.
We are the second largest producer of wheat.
We are the second largest producer of rice.
Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a
self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such
achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures
and disasters. I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli
newspaper. It was the day
after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The
Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a
Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an
orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up
to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the
newspaper, buried among other news.
In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are we
so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with
foreign things? We want foreign T. Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want
foreign technology.
Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that
self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this
lecture,
when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her
goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India . For
her, you and I will have to build this developed India . You must
proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed
nation. Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance.
Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is
yours.
YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke,
The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their
destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the
absolute pits.
YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?
Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - YOURS. Give him
a face - YOURS. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your
International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the
roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links
as they are. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road
(equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU
come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have
over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status
identity... In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare
to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai . YOU would not dare to go out
without your head covered in Jeddah. YOU would not dare to buy an employee
of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds ( Rs.650) a month to,
'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.'YOU
would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then
tell the traffic cop,
'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son.
Take your two bucks and get lost.' YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut
shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and
New Zealand .
Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo ? Why don't YOU use
examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ??? We are still
talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign
system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw
papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If
you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why
cannot you be the same here in India ?
Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay , Mr.
Tinaikar , had a point to make. 'Rich people's dogs are walked on the
streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place,' he said.
'And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the
authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the
officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the
pressure in his bowels?
In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job.
Same in Japan . Will the Indian citizen do that here?' He's right. We go
to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all
responsibility. We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the
government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally
negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to
stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick
a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the
railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the
proper use of bathrooms.
We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and
toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least
opportunity. This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on
the service to the public. When it comes to burning social issues like
those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud
drawing room
protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's
the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone
forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of ? Very conveniently for us it consists of
our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the
government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually
making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with
our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries
far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us
with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.
Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their
glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to
England . When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight
out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and
brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape
the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is
mortgaged to money.
Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great
deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too.... I am echoing J.
F. Kennedy 's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians.....
'ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA
AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA
WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY'
Lets do what India needs from us.
Forward this mail to each Indian for a change instead of sending Jokes or
junk mails.
Thank you,
Dr. Abdul Kalaam

Information worth saving
This is a mail from the person working with a Software Company
Dear colleagues, I am working in Blore Software City ..
I wanted to share an incident of my life with you, hoping that it may be an eye opener to you so that you can live more years.
On 27 th October afternoon I had severe heart attack symptom and I was rushed to the hospital.
After reaching to the hospital the doctors prescribed a test called angiogram. This test is basically to identify blood flow of heart arteries. When they finished the test they found a 94% block in the main artery, please see the image below with red circle.
At this point I wanted to share my living style which has caused this block in my heart arteries. Please see the below points of my life style, if any of these points are part of your life style then you are at risk, please change yourselves.
1. I was not doing any physical exercise for more than 10 years, not even walking 30 minutes a day for years.
2. My food timings are 11:00 AM Breakfast or no Breakfast, 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Lunch and dinner at 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
3. Sleeping in very odd timings, going to bed between 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM. Waking up at between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM .. Some times spending sleepless nights.
4. I used to eat heavily because of long gaps between lunch and dinner and I used to make sure that Non-Veg is available most of the time, there were times when I did survey on city hotels to find delicious Non-Veg dishes. I was never interested in vegetable and healthier food.
5. Above all I was chain smoker form years.
6. My father passed away due to heart problems, and the doctors say the heart problems are usually genetic.
Once they identified the major block they have done immediately a procedure called angioplasty along with 2 Stents, mean they will insert a foreign body into the heart arteries and open the blocked area of arteries. Please see the below image after the procedure.
I learnt form the doctors that 60% people will die before reaching the hospital, 20% people will die in the process of recovering form heart attack and only 20% will survive. In my case I was very lucky to be part of the last 20%.
Doctors instructions:
1. Need to have physical exercise for minimum of 45 minutes daily.
2. Eat your food at perfect timings, like how you eat during your school days. Eat in small quantities more times and have lot of vegetables and boiled food, try to avoid fry items and oily food. Fish is good than other non-vegetarian food.
3. Sleep for 8 hours a day, this count should complete before sun rising .
4. Stop smoking.
5. Genetic problems, we can not avoid but we can get away from it by having regular checkups.
6. Find a way to get relived from the stress (Yoga, Meditation etc).
So I urge you all to please avoid getting into this situation, it is in your hands to turn the situation up side down, by just planning / changing your life style, by following simple points above. Because life is wealth and GOD gives you life only once. I pray to GOD that no one should face this situation. If you find it's useful you can forward this mail to your friends and lovedones... ..

From: Subramanian PL
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter, "Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."
The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand." "What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.
"There's a big difference," replied the little girl. "If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."
In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold urs...
